Dr Keith Nicholl

Paediatrician

Dr Keith Nicholl is an internationally renowned paediatrician with over 30 years experience, 23 of those in Dubai.

Dr Nicholl qualified from the University of Dundee in Scotland and completed his postgraduate training in paediatrics in Scotland. He is a general paediatrician with a special interest in infectious diseases of children.

He has taught paediatrics at the Universities of Dundee, Edinburgh and Aberdeen.

Dr Nicholl holds the Diploma in Child Health from The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and is a Member of The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (UK).

He is a Fellow of The Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene and a Member of the Society of Tropical Paediatrics.

Dr Nicholl is a member of the Editorial Board of the medical journal 'Middle East Paediatrics'.

 

Beverley Palmer

Osteopath

Beverley is a British qualified Osteopath who graduated from the British College of Osteopathic Medicine in London. She is registered with the General Osteopathic Council in the UK and is a member of the British Osteopathic Association.

Beverley moved to Dubai in 1990 and has run her successful Osteopathic practice here for the past 21 years. As one of the first providers of Osteopathic health care in Dubai, she has been using her knowledge and skills in Osteopathic medicine to help provide natural pain relief from the aches and pains of everyday life for a large number of the population.

Adopting a structural approach, Beverley uses a range of techniques tailored to the needs of the individual to resolve problems. These may include gentle articulations, soft tissue release, stretches and gentle manipulation of the musculoskeletal system to allow the body to return to normal function. Additionally the use of low level laser therapy, postural and home care advice and exercises may be used to maintain and improve flexibility, range of movement and strength.

Some of the complaints she successfully treats include all types of back, neck and joint pain. She also has a keen interest in treating whiplash, headaches, tension and stress, sciatica, occupational related strain, acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions as well as expectant mothers and general sports injuries.

Through continually furthering her education and skills, Beverley is committed to maintaining the highest standards of Osteopathic practice and patient care.

Beverley joined the team at Keith Nicholl Medical Centre in 2010.

Dr Samaa El Abd

MB. BCh., MSc., MRCPsych. Consultant Child and Adolescent Developmental Neuropsychiatrist

Dr. SAMAA EL ABD is a British Egyptian Child and Adolescent Consultant Neuropsychiatrist. She has worked as a consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist since 1998 in the UK. She worked at St George’s Hospital London, Maudsley Hospital (South London and Maudsley NHS Trust (King’s College London) and the Cromwell Hospital London for the last 15 years. At the South London and Maudsley NHS Trust, she had a particular responsibility for the management and the running of a community service for neurodevelopmental disorders. She has a special interest in the interaction between developmental and behavioral disorders and the use of psychopharmacology.

Dr El Abd has also worked at the University of Cairo and the University of Zurich. Having trained and worked in the UK since 1985. Dr El Abd’s main emphasis is in empowering adults, maximizing the potential of children, adolescents and their parents - in particular those with special needs. She obtained the degrees of MSc (ped) and MRCPsych (London) and has completed her CCST (Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training) in London.

Dr El Abd has been leading in her role in developing psych education groups for parents and undertaking parenting and teacher training (empowering parents and teachers through implementing positive behavior management strategies to get the best behavior from the children and to help treat their behavior problems).

Alongside her clinical career, she is a researcher and combines her academic skills with day-to-day clinical work. She lectures at both national and international conferences and has published widely. Dr Samaa El Abd has been involved in medical students teaching   and the examinations at King’s College London and St George’s Hospital Medical School ( University of London). Dr El Abd has a passion for teaching and has been an approved trainer by the Royal College of Psychiatrists in the UK and has been in charge of training and mentoring many trainees child and adolescent psychiatrists. Dr El Abd is currently on the training committee of the Arab Board in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

Dr Samaa El Abd has a particular interest in teaching and has been an undergraduate and postgraduate teacher, trainer and supervisor of junior doctors.

 

Dr. Céline Pons

Family Medicine Specialist

Dr. Céline Pons graduated from the Faculty of Medicine Cochin-Port Royal in Paris, France in 1999.

After doing her internship in various hospitals in Paris, she left Europe to become the physician for the French Embassy in Hanoi, Vietnam where she was also a medical representative for the European Task Force on SARS and Avian Flu. She was later based in various Asian countries including Singapore, China, Myanmar and Indonesia where she worked in Family Medicine, Emergency care and aeromedical evacuations. She was also a disaster medical coordinator in Phuket after the tragic tsunami that hit in 2004.

Dr. Celine moved to Dubai, UAE in 2008 where she currently works as a Family Medicine Specialist. She is also a medical advisor for the French Consulate in Dubai.

Her special interests include women's health, tropical diseases and travel medicine. She speaks fluent French and English.

Dr Theresa Rocks

Family Medicine Specialist

Dr Theresa Rocks graduated from Trinity College Dublin, Ireland, in 1998 and completed her post graduate training in the UK at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast and The New Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.

She has been a Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners U.K since 2003 and since graduation has gained experience in the wide range of issues presenting to Primary Care including Women’s Health, Psychiatry, Diabetes Management and Palliative Care.

As well as holding MRCGP she has Diplomas in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Care of the Elderly and holds a Certificate in Professional Development in Diabetes Management in Primary Care.

Having worked for over 10 years in General Practice in the U.K prior to moving to Dubai, she has an understanding of the range of issues affecting the health and wellbeing of the individual and their family and is committed to continuity of care and evidence based practice.

Her interests include Acute and Chronic Disease management, Diabetes, Women’s Health, Health Promotion and Illness Prevention.

 

Dr Richard Jones

Family Medicine Specialist

Dr Richard Jones is a UK qualified GP/Family Medicine Specialist, in addition, to a sport and exercise medicine doctor

He graduated from The University of Wales, College of Medicine (UK) in 2000.

Richard spent 11 years working in the UK in a variety of roles, including the N.H.S and British Army, before relocating to Dubai in 2011 to work for Emirates Airlines. He also worked in New Zealand for a year as a junior doctor.

He sees both adults and children for all family medicine conditions. He also has a special interest and qualification in sports and exercise medicine.

His other interests include Men's Health, Mental health and emotional issues, minor surgery including joint injections
