Development Checks

development checksA child’s development is marked by important milestones; children are all unique and will reach these at different stages.

Some children may have difficulty learning, perhaps because of physical problems for example, hearing. You may already be aware that your child's development is likely to be slower than normal or you may be worried about your child’s progress.

Your child’s height and weight is a very good guide to general progress and development. You can have your baby regularly weighed at the clinic during a Well Baby Clinic appointment.

Dr Nicholl carries out recommended developmental reviews at 8 weeks, 10 months, and 18 months. If you are concerned about your child’s progress, don't wait; make an appointment to see the doctor or the baby clinic nurse.
